Ahead of his last funeral ceremonies, the family of the late Ghanaian music icon Daddy Lumba has declared that his body will be driven from Accra to Kumasi. The family said, this decision was made in order to allow Ghanaians nationwide to honor the highlife icon with their final tributes and farewell.
The family explained in a statement that there will be no air travel involved in the body’s relocation because the road trip will enable fans and well-wishers in different towns and regions to show their love and respect for Daddy Lumba, who changed millions of lives with his timeless music.
“The convoy will make brief stops in key towns along the route from Accra to Kumasi, so that fans can bid farewell to the legend who gave them countless memories,” the statement said.
The Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi will host the funeral service on December 6 and 7, 2025. His legacy will be celebrated with a memorial cocktail party.
