
The government of the United Arab Emirates extended a special invitation to Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to visit their breathtakingly beautiful and inspirational nation for two days, and Mr. Ablakwa accepted.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the Minister upon his arrival.
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, the Minister of State; Lana Nusseibeh, the Assistant Minister for Political Affairs; the Ministers of Foreign Trade and Investment; and industry captains were among the UAE authorities with whom Okudzeto Ablakwa had fruitful talks.
The signing of an agreement to start the first-ever high-level political conversations in both countries’ strategic interests was a noteworthy outcome of the meeting.
In line with President Mahama’s announcement that Ghana is once again open to business, Ghana secured pledges from UAE companies that will be visiting the country in the coming weeks to invest in fields like renewable energy, artificial intelligence, education, healthcare, aviation, and defense.

The Minister also discussed two of President Mahama’s government’s top priorities: technical assistance for a new national airline and the sale of Ghanaian youth labor to the United Arab Emirates.
Additionally, the UAE will soon have a large number of job openings for the Ghanaian youth when Ghana finalizes negotiations with CEPA.
