Seasoned journalist and broadcaster Omanhene Kwabena Asante has expressed strong optimism about Ghana’s economic direction following the presentation of the 2026 Budget by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson. Speaking on Asempa FM’s “Ekosii Sen” on Friday, November 14, Omanhene noted that for the first time in a long while, he felt confident that the country was on the path to stability.
According to him, Dr. Ato Forson’s budget delivery was not only comprehensive but addressed key areas that have long threatened Ghana’s economic progress. He said the Minister’s approach—and the strategies outlined—gave him hope that “things will no longer fall apart.”
Omanhene highlighted that the budget touched on critical sectors such as fiscal discipline, revenue mobilization, job creation, infrastructure, and social protection—areas that many Ghanaians have been concerned about. He emphasized that the tone and clarity of the presentation suggested a government committed to rebuilding confidence and restoring economic balance.

He further stated that his renewed hope stems from the realistic policy measures the Finance Minister highlighted, as well as the projected timelines for implementation. “For once, I believe we have a budget that feels grounded, honest, and forward-looking,” he remarked on the program.
Omanhene Kwabena Asante’s comments add to the broader public discussion surrounding the 2026 Budget, which has drawn mixed reactions across the political and economic spectrum. While some analysts remain cautious, others share the broadcaster’s optimism, describing the budget as a potential turning point for Ghana’s economic recovery.
