Stephen Amoah, Member of Parliament for the Nhyiaeso constituency and spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong’s presidential campaign, has alleged that organizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Delegates Conference bused in non-delegates to show support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen program on Monday, July 21, Amoah emphasized that while he is not against candidates speaking at such events — especially in the absence of key party figures like former President John Agyekum Kufuor — the conduct of the event raised concerns of bias.
He criticized Dr. Bawumia for going around the stadium to greet supporters, something he claimed was not afforded to other flagbearer hopefuls, including Kennedy Agyapong.
“The party needs unity now more than ever,” Amoah stressed. “No candidate should engage in activities that will disadvantage others. At the end of the day, only one person will win, and we must all come together behind that person to pursue our common agenda.”
