The United Progressive Party (UPP) leader Akwasi Addai Odike made an appearance on Angel FM’s morning show on Monday, May 12, 2025, to talk about the situation involving Sammy Gyamfi, the CEO of GoldBod Ghana and the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) National Communications Officer.
Gyamfi was supported by Odike, who said that he had done nothing wrong by gifting money to Nana Agradaa, a former fetish priestess who is now an evangelist.
He inquired as to whether gifting money to someone is now illegal. Odike went on to say that everyone has the right to offer money as a present in any currency they choose and that, politicians are allowed to treat people with kindness.
The UPP leader added that, some Ghanaians are merely envious of the “young man” who has put in a lot of effort to become the CEO of GoldBod.
A video that went viral depicts Sammy Gyamfi giving Nana Agradaa an undisclosed amount of money, purportedly in US dollars, at a public gathering.

Concerns regarding the moral behavior expected of public servants have been highlighted by this measure, which has drawn heavy criticism.
Sammy Gyamfi responded to the criticism by apologizing in public and regretting that the gesture and emphasizing that it was a personal act of kindness without any ill intent.
Odike’s comments on Angel FM highlight the ongoing debate about the expectations placed on public figures and the scrutiny they face regarding their personal actions.
