Ronaldo’s Saudi Stint: Is An Exit On The Horizon?

At the end of the season, Cristiano Ronaldo’s current contract with Al-Nassr is scheduled to expire. However, due to subpar on-field performances, the 40-year-old’s future with the club is in question.

With an annual salary of £164 million, the 40-year-old former Manchester United striker is headed to become one of the increasing number of sports billionaires.

Interestingly, this salary solely accounts for Ronaldo’s on-field services to Al-Nassr, a team based in Riyadh. The striker’s off-field activities bring in an additional £49 million.

As recently as January, all rumors suggested that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who is nearing the end of his career, will perhaps sign an even larger contract to stay in Saudi Arabia until he is 41.

However, with just two months left on his current contract with Al-Nassr, stories from Spain have fueled suspicion that Ronaldo’s future in the Gulf state is in doubt.

Despite receiving hefty compensation for his time in Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to make the most of his tenure, leaving Al-Nassr without any trophies.

MARCA claims that the reason why talks over new terms have failed is because Saudi Arabia’s wealth cannot properly provide.

Ronaldo and his family purchased a mansion in the upscale neighborhood of Al Muhammadiyah in order to establish strong roots in the Kingdom.

Although, the family’s Saudi residence is just one of Ronaldo’s many upscale residences, he also owns a £7 million refurbishment in Madeira, the island where he was born, and two crash pads in the heart of Lisbon, one of which is the priciest penthouse apartments ever sold in the nation.

In 2015, the Al-Nassr midfielder bought the old warehouse and spent £7 million remodeling the seven-story palace, which is thought to be occupied by his brother Hugo and mother Dolores.

A £1.4 million vacation home at La Resina, a golf and country club estate situated between Marbella and Estepona, is also believed to have been acquired by Ronaldo.

The former Real Madrid player has lavished his vast riches on a variety of watches, vehicles, and even an aircraft in addition to his substantial real estate holdings.

Georgina Rodriguez, Ronaldo’s influencer girlfriend, has frequently delighted her millions of social media fans by sharing pictures of the expensive jet. The 31-year-old recently displayed an enormous engagement ring, which might be a sign that another expensive purchase is imminent.

Together, the pair has three daughters: Alana, who is seven years old, and Bella, who is two years old. They have been dating since 2016. His other three children are likewise stepmothered by her.

The £5.5 million mega yacht Azimut Grande has been known to take the family on high seas excursions. The Ronaldo family has been seen traveling to several beautiful Mediterranean locations on the yacht, which is called for its model. The ship has five cabins that can accommodate eight people and six opulent bathrooms.

After joining Al-Nassr in January 2023, Ronaldo scored 14 goals in 16 games. In his first full season, he went on to score 44 goals in 45 games across all competitions. Ronaldo has once again topped the Saudi Pro League goalscoring records with 23 goals this season, continuing to score goals at an alarming rate.

Regretfully, the Portugal captain’s ambition to leave a lasting impression in the Saudi Pro League has not come to pass. He has not won any awards for his services.

Cristiano Ronaldo Has Hired A New Chief Bodyguard

Al-Nassr’s elimination from the Asian Champions League last month means they will have to endure another season without a trophy.

Rumor seems to have been triggered by the announcement of Al-Nassr’s most recent trophyless campaign, which followed a shocking loss in the Asian Champions League.

‘Sometimes the dream has to wait,’ he wrote on X. ‘I’m proud of this team and everything we gave on the pitch. Thank you to all the fans who believed in us and stood by us every step of the way. Your support means the world’.

Days later, the team dropped to fourth place in the standings after losing 3-2 to league leaders Al-Ittihad. Ronaldo reportedly departed the stadium without changing out of his uniform because he was so upset by the outcome, which saw his team falter after taking a two-goal lead.

Although Al-Nassr has subsequently moved up to third place in the standings, they still have a difficult road ahead of them to guarantee a spot in the Champions League the following season.

Ronaldo will have to make a choice on his future soon because his current contract is coming to an end, but he has stated that he is not yet ready to put up his boots and it is difficult to envisage him playing anyplace else at this point in his career.
