Following their divorce earlier this year, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck made the shocking real estate decision to take off their USD 68 million Beverly Hills property from the market. Despite breaking their marriage, the ex-couple, who were married in 2022, made the decision to make this mutual financial decision.
Only a few weeks ago to Lopez’s August divorce filing from Affleck, the Beverly Hills mansion was originally listed in July 2024. Despite their best efforts, the singer and actor were unable to find a buyer for the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom mansion.
“While they’ve been hoping to sell the property, they’ve also been hesitant to take a big loss,” as per an insider who revealed this on Wednesday, July 2. The source added,
“They lowered the price to get more interest and when this didn’t happen, they were advised to take it off the market. It was a business decision that they made together.”
JLo and Ben Affleck’s real estate move comes amid a ‘rough sellers market.’ The couple dropped the asking price by USD 8.5 million, from USD 68 million to USD 59.5 million, before officially pulling the property off the market.
“It’s a rough sellers market and especially for that price point. Taking it off the market until it’s more of a seller-friendly climate seems like the smartest decision.” a real estate source revealed.
In May 2023, Lopez and Affleck paid USD 60.8 million for the enormous 38,000-square-foot house. The estate includes a caretaker house, a guardhouse with two bedrooms, a 5,000-square-foot guest apartment, and a 12-car garage. A comprehensive gym, bar, and sports lounge are additional upscale features.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have each moved into new residences since their divorce. In March, Lopez purchased a house in Los Angeles for USD 18 million. Last July, in order to be near his children, Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 12, whom he has with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, Affleck bought a USD 20.5 million property in the Pacific Palisades.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez separated discreetly in April 2024, and their divorce was formalized in January 2025. The ex-partners are still working together to make significant financial decisions even a year after filing.
