The government’s steadfast commitment to enacting the LGBTQ+ legislation has been reaffirmed by government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu. “Nothing can stop us.”, he said.

In an interview with Asempa FM’s ‘Ekosii Sen’ program on July 9, 2025, Kwakye Ofosu stressed that the government’s present stance is consistent with its promises made during the opposition.

He emphasized that the administration is unwavering in its resolve and will make sure that the laws are approved to represent the values and views of the vast majority of Ghanaians, even in the face of criticism from numerous foreign organizations and human rights campaigners.

“We made a promise in opposition, and we will not abandon it in government. We still stand by our word. This law will pass,” he stated.
