On Thursday, October 23, 2025, Samuel Atta Akyea, Kwabena Adu Boahen’s primary defense attorney in the GH¢49 million case, left the courtroom during proceedings and pulled his legal team.

The walkout took place during a hearing before the Ghanaian High Court, which was presided over by Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe.

Despite unresolved disclosure difficulties, Atta Akyea raised concerns about prejudice and the court process, calling it a “aberration of justice.”

He specifically contested the prosecution’s choice to drop charges against Mildred Donkor, one of the accused, and turn her into a witness, claiming that this violates her right to a fair trial.
