In an effort to foster cultural interchange and increase sports innovation, Barcelona FC and the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo have signed a four-year strategic agreement. According to this agreement, until 2029, the motto “R.D. Congo – Coeur d’Afrique” will be worn on training shirts by all Barça professional teams.
This strategic partnership with the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s government aims to advance the African nation’s cultural and athletic advancement. The partnership will continue for four seasons.
Promoting multistructured sport and passing on Barça’s ecosystem of values to the next generation of young Congolese sportsmen are the primary goals. Implementing sports programs for kids in sports like football, basketball, handball, futsal, and roller hockey through the Barça Academies will be one of the agreement’s main pillars.
The Barça Innovation Hub will also provide training programs for coaches in the area, giving special attention to scientific integration in the sport industry and advanced technical training. “R.D. Congo – Coeur d’Afrique” will be emblazoned on the back of training shirts for all of the club’s professional teams until the 2028–2029 season as part of the partnership.
