Daddy Lumba Should Be The Biggest Artist In The World — Okatakyie Afrifa

Okatakyie Afrifa, host of the “For the Records” program, has boldly claimed that Ghanaian music legend Daddy Lumba (Charles KwadwoFosu) is bigger than almost every musician in the world.

Speaking passionately on his show, Afrifa emphasized that if not for the language barrier — particularly the inability of many non-Ghanaians to understand Twi — Lumba would easily be recognized globally as the greatest musical icon.

According to Afrifa, Daddy Lumba’s impact through music is unparalleled, reaching millions of people and touching lives in ways that transcend fame or commercial success.

“I don’t believe anyone can do what Lumba has done on planet Earth,” he asserted.

Sharing a personal experience, Afrifa revealed how deeply Lumba’s songs influenced him during his darkest moments while growing up. He credited the musician’s lyrics and emotional delivery for helping him navigate difficult times, reinforcing the profound power of Lumba’s art.

“It took Daddy Lumba to save me from perhaps committing suicide through his song. Kwadwo Fosu is a saviour— a god”, Okatakyie said.
