Ghana Is Partnering Portugal To Establish A National Airline

As part of initiatives to strengthen the nation’s aviation industries, President John Dramani Mahama has stated Ghana’s interest in collaborating with the Portuguese government to launch a national airline.

During a ceremony at the Jubilee House on Thursday, July 10, he made the remarks after receiving letters of credence from five newly accredited ambassadors to Ghana, including the new Portuguese Ambassador Maria Da Conceição de Sousa Pilar.

President Mahama discussed the strategic significance of strengthening bilateral ties with Portugal, especially in the areas of commerce, investment, and aviation, with the Portuguese ambassador.

“We appreciate the fact that the Portuguese national airline flies directly to Accra. Ghana itself is trying to reestablish its national airline. At the appropriate time, we will be looking for partners, and if the Portuguese national airline is interested, we could do a partnership.” President Mahama stated.
