Omanhene Kwabena Asante, co-host of Asempa FM’s “Ekosii Sen,” voiced serious concerns on Monday, June 9, 2025, over the growth of scammers in Ghana now.

He called on the National Security and Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to step up their efforts to stop these illegal operations. He underlined that urgent and decisive action is necessary since the existing state of affairs is intolerable.

His comments follow the revelation that a number of these scammers freely spend money lavishly, especially at funeral grounds and other gatherings across the nation.

According to him, today’s youth have turned to these unlawful practices everywhere, and security personnel have watched helplessly.

“These criminals defraud people of millions of Ghanaian cedis into their own accounts under the premise of conducting a genuine work,” Kwabena Asante continued.

Asante’s appeal emphasizes how vital it is to have strong enforcement and accountability in order to protect public resources and rebuild confidence in national institutions.
