President John Dramani Mahama has been commended by renowned economist Kwame Pianim for his attentive leadership, calling him the only leader who can “reset Ghana” in the face of urgent national issues.
When the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) paid the President a courtesy call at the Jubilee house on Wednesday, June 11, he made these remarks. Recalling how teachers approached Mahama with their worries and how, in a matter of seconds, he listened and took action, Mr. Pianim praises the president’s promptness on the matter.
“Here we tend to underpay our teachers but with you as a listening president, I was happy when they were coming; they said let’s go and talk to the president — I said with this president if he tells you he is going to do something, he will do it,” Pianim stated
Comparing President Mahama’s leadership to predecessors, the economist claimed that the others had fallen short of their pledge to provide 10,000 teacher housing units.

Regardless of party affiliation, Mr. Pianim urged all Ghanaians to support Mahama.
He also urged the president to rule independently of political pressure.
“You are the right person, you don’t need the voters, you don’t need the party, do the best for Ghana and leave a legacy.”
