The complainant and the accused Shannon Sharpe have both reached a settlement in the civil case, according to the lawyer for the plaintiff who accused the NFL legend Shannon Sharpe of rape on Friday.
“After protracted and respectful conversations,” Tony Buzbee said in a statement posted on his Instagram page, Sharpe and his accuser “reached a mutually agreed upon agreement.”
Buzbee claims that everything has been resolved to a satisfactory degree and that the case is now closed. This will result in the lawsuit being dismissed with prejudice.
After years of toxic relationships, a woman who only identified as Jane Doe filed a lawsuit against Sharpe in April of this year, claiming the NFL veteran repeatedly sexually attacked her during the end of 2024 and the start of 2025.
The lady accused Sharpe of being verbally and physically abusive. She said she first met Sharpe in 2023 at a gym in Los Angeles when she was 20 years old.
A few days after the lawsuit was filed, Buzbee made public an audio recording in which a man who sounded like Sharpe is heard threatening to “f**ing choke the s out” his accuser.

Sharpe had referred to the woman’s accusations as “a shakedown”… and declared his intention to file a defamation lawsuit.
“I know my family and fans know exactly what this is about,” the Pro Football Hall of Famer said on April 30. “And I’m going to be out there telling you whatever I need to say, just like I always do. I love all you guys. Thanks.”
