Award-winning Ghanaian dancehall and reggae artiste Stonebwoy has opened up about the possibility of venturing into politics, stating clearly that he would only consider becoming a Member of Parliament (MP) under specific conditions.
Speaking in an interview with Osei Bonsu (OB) on Asempa FM, the celebrated musician explained that his desire to help the less privileged would be the driving force behind such a decision.
Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, emphasized that he is often overwhelmed by the number of needy individuals who visit his home daily seeking assistance. According to him, the reality of people lining up at his residence every morning has made it evident how much support many Ghanaians lack.
“I may consider being a Member of Parliament only if I will be allowed to work on the side to make money to feed the needy who line up in my house every morning,” he told OB during the interview.
The “Activate” hitmaker stressed that for him, holding public office would not be about political gain or prestige, but about real service to humanity. He maintained that the opportunity to combine his passion for music and philanthropy with political representation could amplify the support he offers to struggling communities.
Stonebwoy also called for greater empathy and action from leaders, noting that many Ghanaians are battling poverty and hardship without much institutional support.
Meanwhile, fans and political observers alike are speculating on the potential impact he could have if he decides to run for office in the future.
Stonebwoy has long been known for his philanthropic efforts through his Livingstone Foundation, which supports health, education, and empowerment projects across Ghana.
