Jannik Sinner

With just one defeat, Jannik Sinner went ahead to defeat Alexander Zverev to reach the 2025 Paris Masters final. Sinner advanced to the Paris Masters final by defeating a tired-looking Alexander Zverev 6-0 6-1 in just over an hour, bringing him one step closer to regaining the top spot in the global rankings.

If he defeats ninth-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final, the four-time Grand Slam Italian champion will take Carlos Alcaraz’s place at the top, who has won six majors. In order to secure the eighth and final spot at the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin, Italy, the latter must win.

At La Defense Arena, Auger-Aliassime had previously defeated Alexander Bublik 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 in their semifinal match.

Sinner defeated Zverev in the Vienna final last weekend, extending his winning run to 25 games indoors.

He led 5-4 in their career encounters after defeating Zverev, the reigning champion in Paris, for the fourth match in a row.

After leading 5-0 after 25 minutes, the second-seeded Sinner won 90 percent of his first-serve points, while Zverev only won 47 percent. On Zverev’s serve, he had five break points and converted two of them.

Sinner broke Zverev to take a 2-1 lead in the second set. After the match, the third-seeded German appeared exhausted and stood with his hands on his knees.

In their tough quarterfinal on Friday, Zverev defeated Daniil Medvedev in three sets after saving two match points, snapping a five-match losing run against the Russian.

Sinner will bid for his fifth title of the year and 23rd of his career on Sunday November 2, as Auger-Aliassime goes for his fourth of the season and ninth overall.
