
Malcolm-Jamal Warner has passed away. He was best known for playing Theo Huxtable on “The Cosby Show.” Malcolm-Jamal Warner sadly drowned while on vacation in Costa Rica on July 20, 2025, at the age of 54, according to several accounts. He became entangled in a powerful ocean current close to Limón’s Playa Cocles. The Costa Rican Red Cross declared him dead despite the efforts of onlookers to save him.
Warner was a well-known actor, director, and Grammy-winning musician who was praised for his performance in- Malcolm & Eddie, The Resident, Reed Between the Lines, and The Cosby Show (1984–1992), for which he received an Emmy nomination.
In 2015, he received a Grammy for his work on the Robert Glasper Experiment’s rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Jesus Children of America.” He also hosts the podcast “Not All Hood.”
