The CEO of the Ghana tourist Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, has laid out plans to use sports as a driving force behind Ghana’s tourist industry. She wants to use sports events to highlight Ghana’s rich cultural legacy and draw tourists from abroad since she understands how popular sports, especially football, are around the world.
Mrs. Houadjeto highlighted the Authority’s dedication to including sports into the marketing of tourism in a recent appearance on Joy News. In order to increase Ghana’s appeal as a travel destination, she outlined intentions to work with different partners to arrange and sponsor athletic events that provide both entertainment and distinctive cultural experiences.
In order to create sports tourist products, she stated that the GTA is looking into joint ventures with sports organisations and event coordinators. By giving them a chance to explore Ghana’s many attractions outside of the athletic arenas, these programs hope to draw both athletes and fans.
Why Ghanaians Have Strong Expectations For The Sports Minister Kofi Adams
Under the direction of Mrs. Houadjeto, the Ghana Tourism Authority aims to establish Ghana as a top travel destination for sports fans by incorporating sports into its tourism plan. This will increase tourism and support the country’s economic growth.
