This Year’s Accra Jazz Festival Is Ongoing

Alliance Française, in partnership with Societe Generale Ghana Limited, has launched the 2024 edition of the annual Jazz Festival in Accra.

The event started on April 22 and will end on Saturday 27 April 2024. The celebration of International Jazz Day includes the event.

Bibie Brew, Rocky Dawuni, the Band Kokui, as well as Shuffle Demons from Canada are a portion of the various artist who are performing.

According to the director of Alliance Française Accra, Hélène Geneau-Okutue, the event is interspersed with an art exhibition as well as Jazz workshops.

The head of Marketing at Societe Generale Ghana Limited, Eli Muzzu, reiterated the bank’s commitment towards supporting artistic impressions and cultural diversities for national development.

He stated that the fact that the partnership with Alliance Française has flourished over time, it is evidence of their shared values and vision.

He noted that Societe Generale Ghana Limited is delighted to be part of the celebration of jazz music and urged all to embrace the richness of the musical heritage and the diversity it represents.

Elizabeth Agonou, the director of Commerce Ibis Styles, who is also partners of the event, urged those visiting Ghana for the event to explore the diverse opportunities and potentials the country offers.

The art exhibition for the event was put together by Kenneth Boa-Amponsem, co-founder and creative director of HMLND. He said that the idea for the photographic documentary was to celebrate the return of jazz to its home continent, Africa.
