Communication Minister Adjudged Public Sector Digital Leader Of The Year

Samuel Nartey George (MP), Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, was named Public Sector Digital Leader of the Year at the 14th Digital Innovation Awards, which took place at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra on Friday, June 27, 2025.

His innovative leadership and significant accomplishments in advancing Ghana’s digital transformation agenda are acknowledged by the award.

Highlights of His Awards-Recognized Contributions:

Originally called the Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Awards, or GITTA, the event has grown from a venue for national recognition to a potent Pan-African celebration of technological brilliance, innovation, and digital transformation.

The Digital Innovation Awards have gained the title of “Oscars” of the ICT and innovation ecosystem in Africa.

The keynote speaker, Samuel Nartey George, spoke on the topic of “Towards a Strategic Framework for AI.”

He negotiated reasonable data packages (6 GB for GHS 10) and led programs like the One Million Coders Program, greatly advancing digital inclusion.
