Africa Basketball Festival 2025 – The Official Date Of Event Unveiled
This year, the dynamic, multi-day lifestyle event known as the Africa Basketball Festival (ABF) 2025 will celebrate its fifth anniversary by fusing competitive basketball, fashion, music, and cultural experiences.
This yearly event, which takes place in Ghana, is a milestone with an expanded format that spans five days in order to provide an immersive “five-year anniversary experience.” Its goal is to bring together fans, athletes, and artists from all over Africa and beyond, establishing Ghana as a center for African entertainment and sports.
The festival places a strong emphasis on fostering a sense of community, showcasing talent, and boosting the local economy through tourism.
The festival this year will take place at the University of Ghana Basketball Court in Legon, Accra, from December 10–14, 2025.
Official announcements, a 3×3 basketball competition with a GHC 2,000 cash prize, and a sneak peek at the festival’s excitement were all part of the premiere event, which took place at the same location on November 19, 2025.
Over the course of its five days, the festival promises a full schedule of exciting events. The ABF Trophy will be contested by teams from five African nations. Anticipate exciting games, including skill tests and 3×3 competitions. With the announcement of the top finalists, pre-festival qualifiers such as the ABF 3-Point Shooting Contest (held November 7, 2025, with a GHC 5,000 prize) have already generated excitement.
Fashion Show: Five African fashion brands will showcase collections, including streetwear from Kwadwoman, swimwear and sportswear from Beautiful Beneath, and bridal couture from She Stitch. Model castings were held on October 11, 2025, at Delish Restaurant in Accra.
Music and Entertainment: Five rising stars from the ABF Music Rising Star contest will perform, alongside a cultural night. The lineup aims to electrify the main stage with Afrobeat and global sounds.
There will also be Community engagements, sponsor activations, and fan zones.
Official partners include Glico General (insurance) and Rite Sports Ltd (organizers).
This year’s theme builds on ABF’s legacy of merging sport and culture, with expanded international participation teased from the 2024 edition (which featured 12 African nations and ended with Ghana defending their title).
